Watch my quick video (less than 3 minutes) here that shows you how to effectively and cheaply handle your carpal tunnel pain without drugs.
Here’s a familiar story, from a woman afflicted with carpal tunnel pain:
“I first went to the doctor because my wrists hurt and I couldn’t get through a day of computer work at my office. She immediately offered me prescription painkillers, which I declined. Instead, I took her suggestion to try daily doses of ibuprofin.
What I didn’t know was that I was endangering my liver and stomach. One month later, I was back at the doctor with stomach pain that came on after every meal. Then she recommended another prescription to protect my stomach lining.
If you have to take a pill to counteract another pill, and my wrists are still bothering me, why not just cut them out altogether?”
Sometimes modern medicine relies too heavily on medications and extreme measures to problems that have simple, and safer, options.

It’s summer and I’m thirsty and hot – a lot. New York City can be pretty sticky, and I need constant refreshment to get through a day. Try my favorite mid-day caffeine-free latte recipe!
Back in the day I would cool my afternoon energy lulls with an iced latte or frozen coffee drink from that place that rhymes with “Blahr – ducks.” Since detoxifying my body over a decade ago, I find that I don’t like or want as much caffeine, dairy, and sugar as I used to. Actually, I find that I feel even worse if I have them!
What’s wrong with a little caffeine you might be asking? Well, if you’re drinking several (or even one, for some people) servings of coffee, tea, cola, or “energy drink” a day, your sleep can be effected no matter how early in the day you drink it.
Your morning cup of tea or coffee can also dehydrate your skin making it look older than it is (horrors!), and makes you urinate more, leading to overall dehydration.
If you remember your high school chemistry, you might recall that calcium (from your bones) is an alkaline substance.
If you’re drinking caffeine (along with sugar and diary, especially) you can change the pH balance of your body to be overly acidic. There are strong links between regular caffeine use and osteoporosis, because of the acidic nature of many caffeinated beverages.
(Are you more than ready to get off caffeine, sugar, and dairy once and for all?

Still, I like to enjoy a yummy cold drink, especially in the afternoons, and here is one of my favorite recipes:
1 cup iced Teeccino
½ cup MimiCCreme
Serve over ice
Teeccino is an herbal coffee-replacement that offers a roasted aroma, look and taste just like coffee, without the caffeine. Or the caffeine crash a few hours later.
MimiCCreme is a line of non-dairy, soy-free, gluten-free nut creams that make any cream recipe totally amazing. I like the unsweetened version for my iced teeccino in the afternoon, but the sweetened versions are great for desserts, baking, smoothies and breakfast recipes.
Enjoy your caffeine free latte!

I love my job – my client Gerry tells his story of our work together in his own words:
“My Doctor put me on blood pressure medication in December 2010 …I didn’t feel good being on these meds and didn’t want to be for the rest of my life – I also didn’t want to be on an acid reflux meds for the rest of my life, but I was constantly waking up at night with stomach pain. My body was feeling achy and foggy and I wouldn’t have energy on many days no matter how much sleep I got. I have always had sinus issues, including congestion, runny nose, and cough. When I would get sick, it wouldn’t be for days, it would be for a couple of weeks.
Here are the results I’ve experienced in the last 3 months working with Alex:
1 – My cholesterol dropped 60 points since I’ve started on your detox diet!! My BP started at 130/90 & is now 110/70 and I’m no longer taking BP medicine!! My cholesterol went from HDL-39 to 45, and LDL-146 to 110!
2 – I have much more energy! I don’t feel the afternoon “crash” after lunch. I can breathe much easier, my sinuses have cleared! I don’t feel dizzy or nauseous. I rarely sneeze much anymore. I have minimal acid reflux and my stomach pain has stopped!!
3 – I did not expect to lose weight, since that wasn’t my plan. In the past 7 weeks I’ve lost 10 pounds. I’m much more aware of what I put in my body before I eat. I read labels, plan meals ahead. I think of food as medicine to nourish my body. I feel so much better!!
Alex, you are wonderful and I cannot thank you enough!! I would highly recommend you to everyone!! =)”
Thank you, Gerry!

I love vegetables in all forms. Steamed, raw, baked, naked and smothered in vegan mushroom gravy. I also love a huge heaping glass of fresh vegetable juice. Nothing makes my body light up with energy like the easy healing from concentrated vitamins, enzymes and phytonutrients!
While having a juicer is necessary to make this recipe, you might consider finally buying one! I’ve had my Juiceman Jr.($85) for 8 years and it shows no signs of slowing. We make fresh “green juices” at least a few times a week. I often make a double batch and stir in a teaspoon of vitamin C powder to the half I won’t drink fresh. The vitamin C protects the stored juice (kept in an air-tight glass container, of course) from losing it’s potency. This way I can have fresh, powerful juice for a couple of days and save time.
Here’s my current favorite juice recipe:
5 big leaves of kale
2 stalks celery
1 small or 1/2 of a large cucumber (peeled if you can’t find it unwaxed)
1-2 apples (Honeycrisp are my absolute favorite)
1 lemon, yellow rind cut away, but as much as the white pith still in tact, as this is where the majority of the bioflavonoids hang out
Just wait – you will love this!
I just wanted to send you a little holiday cheer and a useful idea for true holiday health:
This weekend is the true start of winter – today is Winter Solstice! And my house and yard are covered with 8 inches of newly fallen snow. To truly take care of myself and my clients (and my family!) I’ve made a commitment to myself to hibernate as much as possible for the next 2 weeks. That means I’m going to bed early and waking up with the sun – it’s natural, and it will lead me to better winter productivity. Let me explain:
Winter is about turning inward, laying low, and dreaming dreams of the year to come. The trees drop their leaves and most plants slow down outward signs of growth to protect their roots and their core. Until very recently, say the last 100 years, human activity was limited by the seasons and available natural light. Farmers worked hard the three other seasons of the year, put up enough food for winter, and people stayed put (except to hunt, but that’s another story).
Now we have electricity to give us light far into the winter nights which allows us to stay up late and burn our reserves. Rather than laying fallow, like the fields of grass and leafless trees, we keep working hard and don’t allow ourselves to rest or hibernate in the winter, even though we may feel the urge.
I’ve committed to going to bed by 10pm at the latest every night for the next 2 weeks, and I wanted to offer you the possibility of doing the same. Every hour you sleep before midnight will drastically increase the grounded energy you have available during the day. (A great way to reduce your need for caffeine, by the way!) The better rested you are, the less late night tv you watch, the deeper sleep you get during the dark hours, the more productive and healthy you will be this season.
Supporting my clients to make simple, though not always the easiest, choices for true health is one of my passions. I’m happy to say that 4 women are already signed up for my 8 Week January Detox Tele-Course. To join the group and get started with your winter wellness now, go here:

I’ve had several clients tell me that they experienced unexpected side effects from working with me. Detoxifying their bodies and instilling new habits of healthy eating and living actually lead to more time, more effective working hours and more billable hours!
When you’re tired, unfocused, in pain and out sick, you can’t make the income you need or deserve. Feeling healthy, vibrant and ready to tackle projects is necessary for every professional woman. Women who work for themselves or manage employees especially need to have their focus laser-like.
Self-care and a dedicated focus on healing and maintaining your health every week should be a top priority for every professional woman I know. 1 hour a week investing in your health creates at least 3 hours of billable hours. Your energy, presence and ability to focus are built on true, balanced health.
A well-planned detox and healthy eating as a lifestyle are going to lead to more energy, more time and ultimately a better income:
